God is All-knowing

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for reminding me that You see not only my actions but also the motives of my heart. Teach me to serve, give, and live in a way that pleases You—not to be seen or praised by others, but to honor and glorify Your name. Help me to walk in integrity, knowing that my life is always before Your eyes. Purify my intentions, Lord, and let everything I do flow from sincere love and gratitude toward You.

May I seek Your approval above all else and find joy in doing what is right in Your sight. Keep my heart humble, my spirit faithful, and my eyes fixed on You.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

1. God knows our Actions.

PSALM 139:1 You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.

God knows us completely—inside and out. He searches the deepest parts of our hearts and understands what no one else can see. Every thought, every action, and every step we take are fully known to Him. Whether we sit or rise, go out or lie down, His presence surrounds us. There is no moment of our lives that escapes His notice. God is not distant—He is intimately involved, watching over us with perfect understanding and unfailing love.

HEBREWS 4:13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Many people believe they can conceal their actions, motives, or thoughts from others—but nothing is ever hidden from God. Every secret, every intention, and every hidden deed lies open before His all-seeing eyes. We may hide from people, but never from the Lord. One day, each of us will give an account to Him, for He sees not only what we do but also the heart behind it.

ISAIAH 29:15 Woe to those who go to great depths to hide their plans from the Lord, who do their work in darkness and think, “Who sees us? Who will know?”

God knows everything about each one of us—our plans, our thoughts, and even the motives behind what we do. We may try to hide things in the darkness, thinking no one will see or know, but nothing escapes His sight. The Lord sees beyond appearances; He knows the truth within our hearts.

MATTHEW 10:30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

God’s knowledge of us is complete and personal. He even knows the exact number of hairs on our heads—a detail so small yet deeply meaningful. Nothing about our lives escapes His attention. We are fully known, deeply valued, and constantly cared for by our loving Creator.

MATTHEW 6:1 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

It’s easy to impress people and make them think we are religious, spiritual, or holy. But we cannot deceive God. He sees beyond appearances and looks into the heart. Our acts of righteousness should not be for show, but done sincerely out of love for Him. What matters most is not the praise of people, but the approval of our Father in heaven.

PROVERBS 5:21 For your ways are in full view of the Lord, and he examines all your paths.

God sees everything that happens in our lives. Because He is all-knowing, His judgment is always perfect and just. Nothing is hidden from His sight—no thought, action, or motive escapes His understanding. As a righteous Judge, He is never deceived or misled. He rewards and corrects according to the truth of our hearts and the reality of our lives.

2. God knows our thoughts.

PSALM 139:2 …you perceive my thoughts from afar.

God not only knows what we think—He understands why we think it. His knowledge reaches beyond our thoughts to the motives and intentions of our hearts. Nothing within us is hidden from His perfect understanding.

1 CHRONICLES 28:9 … the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought.

The Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. He knows our aims, our intentions, and our motives. God sees beyond what we do—He understands why we do it. Nothing within us is hidden from His perfect knowledge and divine discernment.

PSALM 139:17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! 18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you.

We naturally think about the people we love and care for. When someone is dear to us, they often fill our thoughts. In the same way—but far greater—God’s thoughts toward us are countless. Scripture says they outnumber the grains of sand on the earth. Imagine that—every grain, beyond number, represents how deeply and constantly God loves and cares for us. Even when we wake up, His presence remains with us. His love is beyond measure and His care never ends.

PSALM 139:6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.

God’s knowledge is beyond our understanding—too wonderful and too great for us to fully grasp. His thoughts toward us are filled with love and compassion. As our heavenly Father, He delights in caring for us and knows how to give good gifts to His children. His wisdom and love work together perfectly for our good, even when we cannot comprehend His ways.

JEREMIAH 29:11 For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.

If we are so precious and valuable to God, then we should not live in despair, fear, or anxiety. The Lord knows us completely and understands us perfectly. His plans for us are filled with hope and purpose, not harm or destruction. Even when life feels uncertain, we can take comfort in knowing that our future rests in the hands of a loving and faithful God.

3. God knows our words.

PSALM 139:4 Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.

This verse reveals the intimate and all-knowing nature of God. Even before we speak, God already knows what we are about to say—our thoughts, intentions, and emotions behind every word. Nothing surprises Him. He understands our hearts better than we understand ourselves.

This truth should both comfort and humble us. It reminds us that God’s knowledge of us is complete—He knows our struggles, our desires, and even the words we fail to express. At the same time, it calls us to be mindful of our speech, knowing that the Lord hears our words even before they leave our lips. Let us therefore speak with grace and truth, allowing our words to reflect the love and wisdom of the One who knows them even before we do.

MATTHEW 12:36 I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, 37 for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Words may seem small—just a few letters joined together, shaped by tone and pitch—but they carry tremendous power. They can heal or harm, build up or tear down, bring life or cause deep wounds. Jesus reminds us that every word we speak matters, for our speech reflects the condition of our hearts.

Let us therefore think before we speak. May our words be instruments of grace—used to affirm, encourage, comfort, and inspire others. Speak in ways that lift hearts, restore hope, and draw people closer to God. Pursue words that give life, not those that destroy. When our tongues are guided by love and truth, our words become a testimony that honors the Lord who listens to them all.

ROMMANS 11:33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!

God’s wisdom and knowledge are beyond our comprehension. He knows everything—past, present, and future. Nothing escapes His understanding. Even before a word is on our tongue, He already knows it completely. Such perfect knowledge reminds us of how intimately He knows us—our thoughts, motives, and desires—far beyond what we can express in words.

JAMES 3:8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. 10 From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.

James reminds us of the incredible power of our words—and the danger of a tongue left uncontrolled. Our speech can bring praise to God one moment and harm to others the next. This inconsistency reveals the struggle within our hearts. Truly, no one can tame the tongue by human strength alone. Yet this truth should not lead us to despair. Instead, it should drive us to depend on the Holy Spirit daily. Only when we walk in the Spirit can our words be purified, guided, and used for good. The more we yield our hearts to God’s control, the more our tongues will speak words that bless, heal, and glorify Him.

JAMES 1:5 … if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God,

God invites us to come to Him whenever we need wisdom. He never withholds guidance from those who seek Him sincerely. There are times when He may use godly counselors, mentors, or friends to help point us in the right direction—but ultimately, true wisdom comes from Him alone.

When we face difficult choices, uncertain paths, or confusing situations, God wants us to bring our questions before Him in faith. He sees the big picture—the parts we cannot see. His wisdom is perfect, His timing flawless, and His purpose good.

Let us learn to trust His voice above all others. As we draw near to Him in prayer and through His Word, He will give clarity, peace, and direction for our lives. The One who knows all things will never fail to lead those who humbly seek His guidance.

Prayer:

All-knowing God,
You see what I cannot see, and You understand what I cannot comprehend. Your wisdom is perfect, and Your knowledge has no limit. When I am uncertain and do not know which way to go, remind me that You already see the path ahead.

Lord, I ask for Your wisdom—not the wisdom of this world, but the wisdom that comes from Your heart. Teach me to trust You fully and to seek Your direction above all other voices. Use the people around me to guide me, but let Your Spirit be the one who confirms the way in my heart.

Thank You that I can come to You for every decision, every question, every concern—knowing that You care for me and know what is best. Lead me according to Your perfect understanding, and help me to walk in faith and peace, confident that You, the all-knowing God, are guiding my steps.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
